About this card
Morton's The Steakhouse opened on 21 December 1978 at 1050 North State Street in Chicago, and it has never really changed its mind about what a steakhouse is: USDA Prime beef, a Chicago-cut ribeye, the double-cut filet mignon, jumbo lump crab cakes, creamed spinach in a dish meant for sharing, and the Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake that has to be ordered with the entrée because it is baked to order. Roughly 65 dining rooms carry the name in the United States, and the bar programme — Bar 12·21, named for that opening date — is the cheaper way in, with bar bites and a martini list rather than a full prime steak.
The part worth understanding before you buy is who owns it. Morton's belongs to Landry's, Tilman Fertitta's hospitality group, and Landry's runs a single gift card across its entire portfolio — on the group's own numbers, more than 600 restaurants and attractions under roughly 60 brands. In practice that means one balance also covers Mastro's, Del Frisco's Double Eagle, Chart House, McCormick & Schmick's, Saltgrass Steak House, Landry's Seafood, The Oceanaire, Vic & Anthony's, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Rainforest Cafe and the Golden Nugget casino-resorts. A Morton's card is therefore far more liquid than a single-restaurant card: if the nearest Morton's is three states away, the money is still spendable. Landry's publishes the current roster on its gift-card page, and it moves as the group buys and sells brands, so check the list before you plan a specific dinner around it.
Buying it here needs no restaurant account, no card on file and no identity check. You give us a delivery email, pay in the coin you already hold, and the code lands in about eleven minutes — which is also the practical way to put a US steakhouse card into someone's hands from outside the country. Denominations run high on purpose: at Morton's a $250 card is a proper dinner for two rather than a gesture.
Two constraints to read before you pay. A contracted private dining or banquet event is billed by the restaurant on its own event paperwork, so treat the card as money for a normal table and confirm with the private-dining manager before assuming it settles a signed event. And an order placed inside DoorDash, Uber Eats or Grubhub is paid to that app, not to the restaurant, so the gift card is not a payment option there — spend it at the table or on the restaurant's own to-go channel. The balance itself never expires and carries no dormancy or inactivity fee.
