About this card
Macy's has been the default American department store since 1858, and the Herald Square flagship on 34th Street is still one of the largest stores of any kind anywhere — roughly a million square feet of selling floor across eleven levels. The assortment runs from designer labels beside house brands such as INC, Alfani, Charter Club and Style & Co, through one of the deepest fragrance and beauty halls in US retail, out to shoes, handbags, fine jewellery, luggage, cookware, bedding and mattresses. Macy's Backstage, the off-price format built inside many of the stores, rings up on the same registers.
The card is store credit, not a coupon. The value lands as a balance, comes off the order total at checkout, and whatever is left stays on the card for the next visit — so a $500 face can be one coat or five smaller runs through the beauty hall. Because it is tender rather than a discount, the brand exclusions that gut a percent-off code do not apply to it: a gift card pays for the fragrance counter and the designer handbag that no coupon will touch. Balances carry no expiry date and no dormancy, service or inactivity fee, and Star Rewards points accrue on what you buy rather than on how you pay for it.
Buying it here needs no Macy's account, no card on file and no identity check. You give us a delivery email, pay in the coin you already hold, and the claim code arrives about eleven minutes after the payment confirms on chain. Macy's sells its own gift cards only against a US payment method — this route does not care where you are sitting, only that the recipient is shopping the US store.
Two constraints worth settling before you pay. First, this card does not cross to Bloomingdale's or Bluemercury. All three nameplates belong to Macy's, Inc., but each runs its own gift-card programme and a Macy's code is refused at a Bloomingdale's register exactly as any stranger's card would be — if the recipient shops Bloomingdale's, buy the Bloomingdale's card instead. Second, the balance cannot be used to buy another gift card, and it cannot be applied to a Macy's Credit Card statement. Macy's also caps loads at $2,000 per card per day, which only bites if you are stacking several large codes onto one card in a single sitting.
