About this card

Fandango is a ticketing platform, not a cinema chain, and that is the whole point of the card. It sells showtimes for AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Marcus, Harkins, Alamo Drafthouse and most of the independents alongside them — on the order of 30,000 screens — so one balance follows the film rather than the operator. It also runs Fandango at Home, the digital rental and purchase store that carried the Vudu name until the 2024 rebrand.

The credit lands on your Fandango account in USD and is drawn down at checkout. It pays the ticket price and Fandango's per-ticket convenience fee — the surcharge that makes people close the tab — which is unusual enough to be worth naming, because most theatre-chain cards leave that fee to a separate card. The same balance settles rentals and digital purchases on Fandango at Home, so the money moves between a Friday cinema trip and a Sunday on the sofa without being split into two instruments.

Buying it here takes no Fandango account, no card on file and no identity check. You give us a delivery email, pay in the coin you already hold, and the claim code arrives in about eleven minutes once the payment confirms on chain. Fandango itself sells gift cards only against US payment methods, which is exactly the wall this route walks around — what matters at redemption is the account, not where the buyer sits.

The constraint to understand before paying: this is Fandango-side money only. Present it at a partner theatre's box office, self-service kiosk or concession stand and it will be refused — those tills belong to the chain, not to Fandango. Buy the seat on fandango.com or in the app, then pay for popcorn some other way.

What you get

Asked & answered

Specifics for Fandango cards. For general crypto-payment questions, see the site FAQ.

Which theatres can I actually book with it?

Any showtime Fandango sells. That covers nearly every major US circuit — AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Marcus, Harkins, Alamo Drafthouse — plus a long tail of independents, around 30,000 screens in total. The reliable test is simple: put the ZIP code into fandango.com, and if the showtime is bookable there, the balance pays for it.

Does it cover the convenience fee, or only the ticket price?

Both. Fandango adds a per-ticket convenience fee on top of the seat price, and gift-card balance is applied to the order total rather than to the ticket line alone — so the fee comes out of the card too. That is the practical difference from a theatre chain's own card, which pays the ticket and leaves the Fandango fee on a separate payment method.

Can I hand it over at the box office or the concession stand?

No. A Fandango card is money inside Fandango's checkout, not at the theatre's till. Box offices, self-service ticketing kiosks and snack counters are run by the chain — AMC, Regal, Cinemark — and settle on the chain's own systems. Book the seat on the site or in the app before you go, and bring another payment method for the popcorn.

Does it work on Fandango at Home, the old Vudu?

Yes. Fandango at Home is the same company's digital store — the service that carried the Vudu name until the 2024 rebrand — and it draws on the same account balance for rentals and digital purchases. One card therefore stretches across a cinema booking and a home rental instead of forcing you to choose which one to fund.

Does the balance expire or lose value over time?

No. Fandango gift-card balances carry no expiry date and no service, dormancy or inactivity fee, which puts them comfortably inside the five-year federal floor set by the US Credit CARD Act. A card bought for a birthday and forgotten until the following summer is still worth exactly what was paid for it.

Can I put two cards on one account, or pay the difference?

Both. Several codes redeemed against the same Fandango account merge into one balance, and if a booking costs more than the balance covers, Fandango charges the remainder to the card or wallet on file at checkout. There is no need to match the card value to the ticket price — buy the round number and let it run down over several films.

How fast does the code arrive, and can I send it to someone else?

The claim code is emailed once your payment confirms on chain, which takes about eleven minutes on median. Put the recipient's address in the delivery field at checkout and it goes straight to them — the code is never displayed on the payment page, so it stays between the two of you and needs no forwarding.

Which coins can I pay with, and what is the smallest card?

Eight — Bitcoin, Monero, Ethereum, Solana, USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20, Litecoin and TRON. The floor across the catalogue is $50 USD-equivalent, so the smallest Fandango card here is $50, which is roughly three or four adult tickets with fees included. No account, no KYC, no identity document at any point.
