An Apple gift card is the cleanest way to put money on an Apple Account without attaching a bank card to it. The balance covers everything Apple bills through the account: apps and games, in-app purchases, Apple Music, iCloud+, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and Fitness+, films, books and audiobooks, and Apple One bundles — and in most markets hardware on apple.com too. Apple spends the balance first, before any card on file, which makes it a genuine substitute for a payment method rather than a top-up.

These cards are strictly country-locked. Apple's own support wording is that you cannot redeem a card "outside of the country or region of purchase": a French card will not redeem on the US App Store, and vice versa. The card's country has to match the country set on the Apple Account. Every variant chip above shows the store it belongs to — pick the one matching the account you actually use.

Getting that wrong is more annoying than with most brands, so it is worth stating plainly: Apple will not let an account change its country while it holds a balance, and it also requires every active subscription to be cancelled before the switch. A wrong-region code therefore strands the account rather than just wasting the code. Choose the store first, the denomination second.

You will never share an Apple Account login, a passport or any government ID with us. An email address is the only thing we need to deliver the code. Balance does not expire in the great majority of markets and Apple levies no dormancy or service fee on it.
